Coping with Life Alone provides the opportunity for further growth beyond merely coping with one’s surroundings. Participants are given a workbook with weekly assignments completed during the sessions. They are led towards personal growth by bonding with their small group members and learning how to deal with their loneliness and grief. At this first level, participants begin the process of trusting themselves to deal with various life circumstances. Discussion is focused on acceptance of changes in their relationship with their former spouse, others and social activities. Added topics at this level include being a single parent family, as well as relationships with God and church.
