Beginning Experience has well-structured programs which are both psychologically and spiritually sound, having been designed and developed by respected professionals in the fields of ministry, grief psychology, education and organizational process. The ministry provides its peer ministers a comprehensive training program, which has been a pioneer in the field and continues to improve over fourty years. Facilitators are former participants who have chosen to assist others after receiving help with their own grief, pain and loneliness. They are “wounded healers” – specially trained men and women who are themselves widowed, divorced or separated. Having experienced similar personal losses, they can relate to the hurt and alienation suffered by those who have lost a spouse.
